Just rang today and they said they are working on a 16-18 day wait currently. 

I took your lead and phoned them again today - have now been given an appointment for 23rd May.

Hi all, I was referred last Thursday and still have no appointment. I was staying fairly calm until I remembered that the doctor booked me in for bloods (full blood count I think) at the doctor's surgery prior to the appointment, I think she said it was just this hospital of the two I was offered that ask for this but now I am completely panicking that it means she strongly suspects cancer. Has anyone else been sent for bloods or know if this is usual? I has been waiting quite well but now canMy stop shaking. I would be grateful for any hand holding or reassurance. Thank you. 

Hi bfr349, I was sent for bloods too, due to my symptoms it was to rule out infection and doc said that clinic would want bloods doing before appointment. As I'm 40 this year he said they would do all the health check blood tests too..not sure what they are but docs rang me a day later to tell me no infection. Can't really tell you more than that sorry! Other than sounds like we are all in the same boat just waiting. I honestly think once I have a date for appointment I will feel better about it. 

I keep going from being completely calm about about to really worried and back again. Hope you hear soon.

Thank you Mex, I really appreciate your reply and that is really reassuring. I am 41 so similar in age! Like you I can be really calm and then sometimes like tonight I have just spiralled into complete panic. I don't think I will get an appt within the 14 days as they said today when I called that they are trying to put extra clinics on so they are obviously really overstretched. To be honest I am currently googling a private hospital as I feel like I am going mad. Also I feel like an idiot for ignoring the first symptom for ages and I keep beating myself up. I almost feel guilty being around my two small children as I feel so worried it's bad news.

The clinic has just rang me and my app is 9am on Monday morning, so I just have the weekend to get through and then hopefully get some answers. 

Don't beat yourself up we all have so much going on. Hopefully you get your appointment quickly.
