I have a 5month old and a 3year old- o found a large hard lump on my left breast the other week- went straight to GP who said she wasn't concerned due to my age (35) history (no breast cancer) and believed it to be a blocked milk duct and wanted it checked.
After two week wait I went to one stop today, first I was examined then sent in for ultrasound I was told o was too young for a mammogram. Whilst getting the ultrasound I could tell there was an issue- the radiographer spent ages and kept going g under my armpit too. He then said he wanted to take biopsies. He took quite a few from my breast and my lymph nodes. He then put clip/tags in to show up on mammogram. I'm then sent in for a mammogram- again o knew this seemed like bad news. I heard other women being discharged from waiting room with 'results are all clear so your discharged' o was asked back into consultation room.
i was told that I had some calcification in my lump that were suspicious and I had inflamed lymph nodes. She said by suspicious they mean possibly cancer. She said it could be hormonal stuff from recently having a baby but couldn't say either way. I now have a 12 day wait- I'm petrified mainly for my babies. I'm praying for the best but preparing for the worst. I know from reading on here- the word suscipous tends to be cancer.
Does anyone have similar stories (good or bad news welcome) thank you
*diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma her2+ /3 lymph nodes involved on 18/4/23-starting chemo soon then surgery with herceptin. I've since discovered the waiting is worse than the news. Once you have a treatment plan you feel much better (strangely)
