Hi Everyone,
I've just had an appointment at the breast clinic for a hard lump on my left breast and I am little anxious/confused about the next steps. They instantly were able to detect the lump via touch. Took an ultrasound however it wasn't very clear to see on the imaging. They took a biopsy to confirm what it is. However, when I go for my test results in two weeks, they would possibly like to do a mammogram and/of MRI. They didn't want to do a mammogram today because they had just done the biopsy and didn't want to inflict further pain, which is kind of them. Also I believe an ultrasound is better at detecting lumps at my age (29 nearly 30).
I'm just a bit confused because shouldn't the biopsy confirm what they need to know. Or are they preparing me for the worst? Anyone else been in this situation. I'm not sure where I stand and I probably won't know until I get the results in two weeks.
Thanks x
