Hi there you're not alone xx I'm in no man's land at the moment , I'm 49 and 24/7 carer fory 15 year old with cerebral palsy , life us so hard and I'm terrified , I got referred on the two week pathway to the breast clinic I dudnt see a consultant though, specialist breast nurse who examined me as I have full breast involvement which is hard and a fungating tumour in my right breast which spread to lymph nodes which is 3cm in my lymph nodes, they didn't mention the word cancer but implied it , I thought it was an abcess , been going on at least 10 months that part but started off 4 years ago with a light pink patch but no lump or swollen nodes, but I fluid see what they call a milk bleb through my nipple. I dudnt breast feed had an emergency c section bit I did express my milk but struggled with that nipple , so have you ever expressed milk? 

Also are your lymph nodes ok under your arm? How big is your lump in your breast, can you move it about , smooth or ragged? 

I don't understand the doctor and consultant at the same time but maybe that's just the way they work where you live, so it might not be a concern but I do understand it's the not knowing isn't it.

I get the shoulder pain thing too and the nipple pain well I did with my nipple but the shoulder pain has come on since I had a biopsy, but the other pain I had before all this in both nipples but my right more thany left, si it fluid just be hormonal, you can have mastis non lactating , it's not impossible, have you any discharge or dimpling or nipple inverting, it's really hard to tell, in my nurses notes it says advanced local breast cancer and that was before they dud the biopsy.. my results were ready the other week but I won't accept them until they'vefone the. CT scan because I won't beabke to function and I have to because if my son and me showing my sister my son's needs.

If it is anything sinister then you don't appear to be at my stage so hopefully you can be treated better but hopefully it's nothing to worry about xx

Hi Hobbit. Welcome to this forum. Just to put your mind at ease a little bit - I know you're worrying. I had 3 consultants during my cancer treatment. The surgeon who carried out my operation, my oncologist who dealt with the chemotherapy (who I still see) and also an oncologist who specialised in the radiotherapy. Cancer is not a "one size fits all" disease and no two people are the same. To me it sounds like a good thing that you are seeing these two different consultants early on, they will make a plan as to how your treatment will be carried out.

If I read your post correctly you haven't actually been given a definite cancer diagnosis. Hopefully it won't turn out to be cancer and you can put all this worry behind you. If it is cancer you will be surprised at how strong and capable you are. I am on my own and my very first thought when I got my diagnosis was "I can't do this!", but here I am nearly 2 years on, still standing and stronger than I ever thought possible. It sounds as if you have a good husband to support you whatever lies ahead for you.

No I've never breast fed before sweet , I have no dents,inverted nipple, discoloration, I get slight custs over nipple but but nothing that would have me link it to my lump.

My lump is the size of a 50p it's on the under side of the boob and can't move it

no IV not has any diagnosis yet I'm sure that will come with the appointment on the 15th, at the moment I'm just at the stage of found the lump seen the doctor and had blood work done ( oh do you know know why we need to have bloods done before the 1st hopsital appointment? ) They said the hospital would need them .

I went to a one stop breast clinic sadly I was diagnosed last July but back to normal busy life now and feel back to myself 

I didn't have any bloods done at the breast clinic I had a mammogram ultrasound and biopsy .I'm not sure some clinics may well do bloods .

Hi Hobbit. The hospital wants blood tests done because they are looking for cancer markers in your blood and also checking your general health - kidney function, liver function and so on. Blood can tell them a lot about you, things they need to know if you do have cancer and need treatment. I had bloods taken before every chemo cycle and after, it's part and parcel of the cancer journey.

I have my fingers crossed for you that your appointment goes well today and you find that you do not have cancer. Remember if it is bad news you have people on this forum you can talk too and as I said before you are much stronger than you think and by taking one day at a time you will get through it. Do let me know how you get on.

Thank you all for your thoughts, I'm back home now after the appointment.

They said it's not cancer and just fatty scar tissue caused by wearing underwire bras . I'm beyond pleased . Tho they didn't say I'd over time the lump would disappear or just remain there , witch now leaves me to think what do I do if it stays there ? How can I then tell if it starts to be a concern?? Why didn't I ask while I was talking to the consultant .

I am so, so pleased for you, Carol! Beyond pleased! Thank you for letting us know. I'd say just get to your your breasts really well by checking regularly so you are aware of any changes over time.
