Enlarged Tonsil- Cancer?

Hi I'm an 18 year old female

I've noticed a painless swollen tonsil for a couple months now and have developed a persistent cough lasting around 6 weeks. These things have made me quite worried as I know I am in a healthy age group group should NOT be getting these types of symptoms. I am worried that a GP may just dismiss my claims and send me with painkillers when I know my symptoms don't need them as a lot of people on here get misdiagnosed and messed about by doctors . Please help!!

    I'm sorry you've had some ongoing health concerns over the past few months.

    There could be many reasons for the symptoms you've described but ultimately your GP is the first point of call for diagnosis and treatment so do make an appointment with them when you're able to.

    Hopefully they will be able to help resolve your concerns quickly.
