How/ When to tell my partner

I've had an ultrasound that found a cyst on my left ovary which they think is Endometriosis but they were questioning my right ovary and couldn't see it clearly enough. The doctor did more bloods and found abnormalities in hormone levels and the specific one for ovarian cancer so have been referred for an urgent gynaecologist appointment. From what the doctor explained they think it is either ovarian cancer, early menopause or PCOS; either one of these is hurrendous for my future. I'm 24 and buying my first house with my partner. How can I tell him that I'm very likely not going to be able to have children?
do I wait til I have the appointment and know what I'm facing or tell him beforehand and make him worry?

I've cried for 2 days straight thinking about all the plans we had and almost mourning the loss of the life I thought I'd have- is that crazy?

  • Hi Ch

Bless you with all the worry but a problem shared is a problem halved

I'm sure ovarian cancer is more common in older ladies after 40 I hope you get good results .

big virtual hugs love Lara ️

  • Hi Chlow,

Nothing you have felt is crazy. You're having such an exciting time making plans for your future and this has put a cloud over it. You don't know anything for sure yet and that makes it harder because your mind takes you on an unwanted journey of darkness!

I'm sure that he will want to know so that he can support you - buying a house with someone is a big commitment and he must love you very much. Tell him what you know and talk about your fears. Things are less scary when you talk it through. Wishing you all the best xx
