Hi
Just hoping for reassurance, I had a Haemotologist appointment on the 2nd February, thinking all would be fine with my bone marrow results.
They came back with abnormalities , not certain of a diagnosis as yet or wouldn't commit till further testing which will take a couple of months .
im guessing because they want to see if the abnormal cells grow into cancer ?
Also to get a second opinion of the BM sample .
My consultant was absolutely lovely, but I'm fearing it's going towards that way as we were discussing a blood cancer ET . Went onto explain that if it turns out to be they wouldn't treat till I'm 60 ( I'm 53) but keep a close on eye on things . Apparently it's a slow growing cancer hence the delay and you can live a normal life span .
My red blood platelets have been high for a decade and only picked up due to a routine blood test for a different test.
Can anyone share there experiences please one minute I'm ok and the next I'm filled with anxiety and doubt . The word abnormalities doesn't sit right with me at the moment.
Many thanks
