Anyone, please?
The day before yesterday I poked a lot in my mouth. Yesterday I woke up with a nasty pain on the left side (this one did not hurt before) which probably the poking caused. The pain on the right side, for which I initially worried was completely gone.
However, in the evening the pain in the right returned. This time it was ON the tongue for sure, there was a spot that was hurting if I press on it. I poked around some more and this morning I woke up to a similar right sided pain as in the left side yesterday.
I am wondering, can I somehow hurt my tongue / muscles when constantly checking my tongue? But it is also really strange why my tongue did not hurt at all on the right side yesterday and randomly started hurting in the evening.
I am beyone scared to be honest.
Hello there,
I am sorry to hear of your health anxiety and I suggest, if it is worrying you so much that you can't wait to see if the problem goes away, that you visit your GP. They are your first port of call.
Unless people on here have experienced the same symptoms, they won't comment. They (we) are not qualified to do so. You could try posting in the 'ask the nurses' section.
Having said that, and given that you have only recently recovered from a virus affecting the ENT region, it's highly likely that this is something related to that. Poking around and contorting muscles will likely only exacerbate any discomfort you are feeling.
Best wishes
I am experiencing the same thing. Did you get to the bottom of it? I've had an ultrasound and MRI and doctors haven't seen anything sinister.
