Waiting for suspected Melanoma biopsy results

Hi

  Just wondering if there's anyone else who has recently had a biopsy for a suspected Melanoma? If so how long did you wait for the results? I had an incisional biopsy done 6 weeks ago but still nothing  and it's really starting to get to me now. I keep thinking that no news is good news but not sure if bad results get shared quicker. Would appreciate anyone else's experiences.

    I'm sorry to hear that you're currently waiting for biopsy results for suspected melanoma. We know from other posts here on the forum that lots of people are waiting longer than 6 weeks for their results. 

    There's certainly no harm in giving the department or team secretary a call to find out when you may hear some news. Having a time frame to work to may help you cope with the waiting. 

    In the meantime, if you'd like to chat with one of our nurses for some support you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm (excluding bank holidays).

       Thanks for the advice I appreciate your reply. Think I'm going give the secretary a call next week, hopefully won't be too long now until I know and hopefully can put this behind me.
