Nodules on thyriod need a FNA on 2ww

Hi, 

Firstly thank you for reading, I am drained absolutely and mentally drained. 

So went to doctor back in summer as wasnt feeling great, bloods normal apart from a low TSH. Doctor referred for thyriod scan to see what was going on, had that almost 2 weeks ago found nodules that need a biopsy on. And I am worried sick, it's all I think about I have a great support in my mum and husband. But I'm 34 and have young kids even hearing the word cancer I cannot focus I'm signed off work, I absolutely have zero energy I'm spending all my day googling on my phone, I'm worried its spread and cannot think logically at all I'm not present right now just putting a smile on my face sat on the sofa telling everyone I'm fine. 

I am not fine I'm worried I'm nervous and cannot get my mindset to be postive. Being on a 2 week wait is honestly just making me feel so scared although I feel content i dont have to wait. Honestly what a horrible disease this is! I am broken! So broken. My FNA is on tuesday I just feel I'm living in a nightmare. My doctors arent really supportive just saying wait to find out what it is or my symptoms are just part of the overactive thyroid anyone went through this and postive news? How did you learn to be postive as right now it feels a death sentence!!

    Easy said than done not to worry I'm also awaiting thyroid tests  have you felt poorly in your self too .. I have a large ish lump but it's not hard I hope all ends up OK for you sometimes tests are to rule things our

    Oh no! Sorry to hear you are also going through something similar. 

    I've been tired, sluggish,anxious mainly. Sore throat started about 2 weeks ago aswell. Cant really see a lump in my neck more swelling. Sonographer said need to biopsy them to be safe than sorry :cry: just absolutely drained by this how are you feeling?

    Mine is a swelling at bottom of throat I felt unwell few weeks ago but I'm.sure it's because I'd convinced my self of something bad ... I also had breast cancer in 2008 hope all OK tues please let me know how it goes xx

    Wow. Amazing you have overcome cancer. 

    Yes often I think I'm like this, but my symptoms and blood work show overactive thyroid and because of the swelling doctor wanted thyriod scanned so have to be lucky suppose. It's one nodule on the left and right measuring 1.3cm so I definitely know for sure the thyriod has to come out, just hoping it's not cancerous.

    Woman I work with was fine and I have read on here quite a few saying the thyroid operation is fine and not much to worry about after to me it's the thought of where it is that makes it seem worse  is ur swelling hard or soft .. I also think this forum is a good thing  makes you feel better about things knowing others in the same position I also read the  fna biopsy is ok too which I will be finding out myself soon .. you take care n let me know how tues goes xx

    Yes definitely, I think because it's on the neck makes us feel alot worse. 

    Not a hard lump at all just more a swelling than a lump tbh wasnt the reason I went to doctors was because of all the other symptoms and doctor had a feel off neck and said best to get a scan and here we are. 

    Dreading the FNA but absolutely has to be done so need to just roll with it. Especially as my symptoms are horrific for overactive honestly out of control. Most days I cannot function. Have u started your blood work? Good luck everything will be fine. Xx

    End next week bloods... did u feel like unwell at any time in yourself ... yes got to deal with things sometime even tho it's hard .. keep smiling xx

    Yes have felt unwell :confused: been to doctors at least monthly since july time. Hoping if it is cancer it hasnt spread and the operation and treatment is enough. Whilst I know nodules are usually benign sometimes they arent. :cry:
