Unfortunately, a cancer diagnosis affects all of the family. All you can do is take it one day at a time and deal with it positively as a family unit. What ages are your children?

The 2 at home are 5 and 15 ,my 15 year old is struggling with anxiety and also has just started her mock exams so I worry for her now she knows I have breast cancer .feel like screaming outside "why me ,I don't deserve breast cancer ".I also suffer from anxiety and depression  ,so want to make sure I stay focused and calm .xx

Hi SD70,

I haven't had radiotherapy on either occasion. As far as I know, it starts as soon as you have healed after surgery. Perhaps others can give you a more accurate answer? It is difficult to always be the strong one for everyone. You are entitled to have the occasional wobble - most of us do.

Just remember that we are here for the bad days as well as the good.

Hi jolamine, just an update .had my preop yesterday and I've got my mri on Tuesday next week to determine  size of tumour .I've been told to buy a seem free comfy bra for after the op .Did you buy a post op bra ? If so did you get your normal size or go a size up to  allow for swelling .many thanks

I just bought a nice soft bra in my normal size. It needs to be comfy, as I was told to wear it in bed at night too. I had quite a lot of post-op swelling, but didn't need anything bigger. I'm glad to hear that you have a date for your MRI now and that you've had your pre-op assessment.

Hi jolamine, thankyou for your reply .Did you buy a special pillow for sleeping or just use your own .I'm not looking forward to the mri but uts one step closer to getting rid of this cancer .
