Worried about prep before colonoscopy

Hi everyone! I'm a 31 Yr old female, I've been having problems now since 2018. The GPS kept saying ibs.. so a couple months back I decided to see a different gp, he gave me the fit test, which came back slightly elevated at 13.think the limit should be 10.

So have been referred for a colonoscopy,  my referral got cancelled by the hospital as I freaked out  got re referred and now I can't get the department to answer their phone too book an appointment!

I think my biggest question here is about the Prep!

My biggest worry is I'll have an accident on the way to the hospital, its a 45 minute drive ‍ can someone please put me at ease here!

I also think I'm going to have to opt for no sedation as I have 2 young children with additional needs who will need me after the colonoscopy.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks x

  • [@KateG83]‍ thank you! That sounds positive!

[@Ineedabreak]‍ thank you for your reply, the Prep is just the most worrying part!

[@freya2002]‍ that's reassuring that yours was infernal piles and was 400! I should imagine mine will be practically nothing at 13 lol. Think the gp is more concerned about the problems I'm having and ibs medications haven't worked at all. They have given me lots to try! So fingers crossed I can find out what's going on. I forgot to mention in my original post, that my problems became severe after my emergency c section in 2021. Everything has just been horrific I don't feel I can leave the house and my anxiety makes it even worse x
