Waiting for skin cancer Biopsy results - head is spinning

Hi.

I had some biopsies taken about 5 weeks ago to test for skin cancer. I have now received a letter with an appointment to go discuss my results, the appointment is not for another 2.5 weeks.

I have rung up and they will not tell me anything over the phone other than they have my results and the appointment is to discuss these, now this is all I can think about and worrying. Has anyone else had this? I would have thought I would have been seen quicker if the result was positive but then argue with myself if it was negative would I not just have received the results in the post to say negative? 

My head is spinning

    hi I'm recovering from Basel squamous skin cance on my lower leg 

    I couldn't even get to see a demetoloist 

    had to go private waiting list was 6/9 months on NHS 

    I really would try not to worry 

    there's nothing you can do about it either way 

    it's all very treatable 

    all you can do is keep busy 

    privately I had to wait 2 weeks 

    sometimes they discuss option with the multi discipline team and it take a while for cultures to grow 

    so maybe they haven't got the results yet 

    I'm so sorry it really is awful waiting

    Thank you for the response on my post, oh my days sounds like you have had a ordeal! 

    I will try keep busy to take my mind off until my appointment.

    I hope you are now well and recovering OK!
