Colonoscopy Help

Hello,

I have really bad health anxiety. Since August I have been suffering with my looser stools, occasional diahreah, pain in my left side etc

I'm 37 so doctor somewhat reluctantly ordered a FIT test. Had the result today which was 29...however two days before I had a bad case of diahreah and piles were bleeding. Could this cause the result? Am now on the 2 week pathway and I'm so frightened. My mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago and feel that this will be history repeating itself.

  • I had bowel changes weight loss and left sided pain last year. The colonoscopy showed unexpected complex solid ovarian cysts, I was referred to gynaecology oncology When they were removed the biopsies were benign fortunately,

l am over 65 so it was a worry. I hope you have a similar outcome and all is well.
Do try to relax and keep busy as nothing will change the outcome of your situation.
Your bleeding from your piles could well be the reason for your raised FIT levels.
    take care

  • Thank you so much for your reply. So glad you had a positive outcome. I had wondered if it might be a Overian cyst and have been referred for an ultrasound so waiting for that too, just on the usual pathway to wait for that though.

I'm pretty convinced the blood was due to piles but guess it's better that they are checking it out. Though I'm really quite scared of canulas so not looking forward to that part.
