After colposcopy..

I recently had a colposcopy after receiving an abnormal smear, there was borderline changes and hpv virus, when I attended my colposcopy the doctor said there was a large area of my cervix that needed treatment and so they did it there and then and took 4 biopsies, what I was wondering was that has anyone had only borderline changes and it turned out to be cancer? I just want some real stories from people who have gone through it, I wasn't too concerned but from the diagram she drew, it seems there was a lot of the cervix area that was affected.

    I had cell changes 23 years ago. They didn't test for HPV then. They went to do the treatment on the day, the same as you, but I fainted. So, I went back and had the lletz procedure under GA. I can report that I have had no abnormal smear tests since then. I hope that you have a similar positive result. 

    I cannot remember the CIN number of my cell changes. I think what they relate to is how deep the abnormal cells go (not the area which it covers). Macmillan have a good page about smear tests and all the findings, which may be useful to you.
