Hi All,
I've been reading this forum for a while but looking for a bit of info please.
I had a colposcopy on Friday after about 1 year of constant bleeding after sex, back pain, discharge etc and the gynaecologist advised I had a number of HPV cells on my cervix. It was a nurse that carried out the colposcopy and she seemed unsure but the gynaecologist said due to my age (22) she wouldn't take any further steps after finding the cells and would leave it until I have a smear test when I'm 25.
I was okay with this at the time but since then when speaking to friends and family, I feel I'll only worry for the next 2.5 years knowing I have the cells and worrying that they could develop into something more serious. Would it be unreasonable to speak to my GP to request a 2nd opinion? I feel younger people often get turned away for treatment as they're less likely to be affected however it's not impossible.
Any advice or info would be so appreciated.
Thank you xx
