The Wait is so Upsetting

First I want to apologise for posting again as I realise a lot of people post about this issue but I am struggling so much.

I was referred on 2WW by my GP, seen very quickly for CT scan... But 3 weeks later, there is nothing. This wouldn't be as hard if it weren't for the fact no one answers when I call any of the numbers provided  I realise people are busy... But I am so anxious and upset. It's easy to say no news is good news, but when I call my GP they say they have nothing, can see nothing on the system (which they have been able to see in the past when I have had hospital scans). So... I am left feeling like no one has even looked at my scans, which the GP requested as urgent.

 I think the hospital must be very backed up right now, which I can appreciate and sympathise with, but it is so emotionally draining and hard not to fear the worst still.

  • The wait is incredibly difficult. Have you been told how you will hear back from them? At my first appointment on the 2wk referral - ultrasound and hysteroscopy - I was told they would write to me with their findings but that there was a delay in the secretarial dept. Within the next 10 days I then had blood tests, MRI , CT scans and all results have been communicated by letter. The one following the MRI was dated 5th August and recieved yesterday. It was mostly good news for me and I feel sure that I would have had a phone call if treatment had been needed. Hopefully the no news is good news will be true for you too
