Bleeding 10 days post LLETZ

Hi guys,

So I had my LLETZ on 27th of  July, felt completely fine after, had no discharge for about 2-3days, then it started with black bits coming out. Then yesterday I woke up with my pad soaked in blood.  Felt like a heavy period throughout the day, but I did not panic, as I have seen a few posts saying this is expected around 10 days in. Then today I literally just walked to the shop and back and it started a lot heavier with a few clots here and there. I am trying to figure out how much is too much?  I have maybe used 4-5 pads today between 8am and 6pm and it kind of goes very heavy non stop flow for a bit and then nothing for a bit. I feel fine, mild cramps from time to time, but other than that nothing - no fever or anything. Felt a bit weak, but figured considering I had so much blood loss in two days is no surprise. I am only getting worried because once it starts it goes rather heavy and soaks the pad almost immediately. Not sure if I should just wait it out and see or just take myself to A&E just in case. Has anyone had anything similar?

  • Hello all thank you for sharing your experiences, as I am currently on a drip in a&e the team have no idea about the reasons as to why this is is happening although they’re aware of the loop procedure I had yesterday afternoon. Over the past 5 hours I can say I’ve lost at least a pint and a half of blood with very large clots. Clots I’ve never had throughout my 30+ years of life. I was flabbergasted yet petrified, they felt tangerines coming out of me. However I was also due to start my period yesterday, therefore I don’t know whether the timing of it all has invigorated my cervix / womb to bleed like never before but it’s a lot of blood loss. I too have been given trans acid to stop the bleeding along with fluids as my bp was low. Feeling better now but still very tired due to the ordeal. I strongly advise taking time off work following a procedure such as this. And also grab some nappies as pads may not suffice. Hugs ladies hugs and love
