Hi thanks for responding I really appreciate it. Jeepers that's a long wait you've had it's only natural to worry especially when you've geared yourself up for the appointment to then have it cancelled last minute I think my emotions would be all over the place

I'm also in the NHS Grampian area waiting to be seen at a Breast Clinic. My referral was made last week and I've just found out it'll be an 8 week wait. I'm a little shocked as I have a lump plus breat pain. I phoned the clinic about a potential appoinment date in order that I can arrange child care and she explained to me that there are three lists: 3 weeks/8 weeks/12 weeks. 

I feel quite concerned about the wait.

Hi, oh no I'm not liking the sound of this potential wait! Did you get a letter through asking you to call them to make the appointment?

I'm sure the Dr said something about urgent and non urgent referrals, she said she'd put me down as urgent referral and that always goes down as suspected cancer but not to panic at that. Wonder if that relates to the different waiting lists

She did also say that pain is a good sign as it's unusual for cancerous lumps to be painful.

No, I just decided to call so I had a rough idea how long I might have to wait. She couldn't give me an actual date yet - just that I was on the 8 week list. My GP also said that if there's a lump they usually see you faster....so I'm confused as to what's happend. I think I'll leave a message for her and she if she can do anything from her end. 

My doctor also mentioned that pain is an unusual so I'm cllinging on to that!

Hi, just wondering did you get your appointment through yet? Mine came in this week for an appointment for a mammogram followed by breast clinic in 2 weeks time x
