Pancreatic cancer?

I've been back and forth to the doctors since May with severe abdominal distension and pain, back ache, nausea, vomiting, extreme fatigue and bowel problems. A subsequent CT scan showed a large lesion on my pancreas which is causing a small bowel obstruction,  and I'm now awaiting another CT scan of just my pancreas next week.

Can't help but think the worst - hard to stop thinking about it when I feel so poorly all the time and could sleep all day! And I'm reading in to everything - like the fact that I've been given an MDT nurse as a point of contact, which I know is given for people with chronic conditions.
And that the radiologist in his report suspected it was a cancerous or pre-cancerous tumour.

Don't really know if there's a point to this post other than I know people reading will have some of the same fears...

  • Hi Emma_86,

I can understand the waiting and uncertainty must be difficult. It's often helpful simply to write things down, so hopefully this forum can help with that and be a support to you. As you say, I'm sure there'll be others here with similar experience.

I hope it's not too long to wait until the next appointment and that you get the answers you need soon.

In the meantime, take care of yourself.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
