Raised ca125

I'm 34 and last month I had a ca125 level of 44. The other day I had a repeat blood test and my level had rose to 96. I had an ultra sound and nothing was found except fluid on the pouch of Douglas. I had initially requested the blood test due to lower stomach pains, hot sensations in my pelvic area and constipation. I am now worried sick because my levels have jumped so much within one month. I was on my period both times but after doing much research I don't believe menstruation can elevate ur levels that much.

has anybody else had levels this high and had them raise so quickly and it's been nothing sinister?

  • Aww what's the pain like? Like how would you describe it?

before yesterday I had this constant burning pressure feeling in my left side of pelvis like there was a hot mass inside there and also a fuzzy sensation in both my legs.

yesterday and today it hasn't been as prominent though. I don't know wether it's because iv been trying to be more psychologically positive.

why don't u request a repeat blood test once your not on ur period and see if it has decreased?

  • It's a dull ache most of time in right side of pelvis but occasionally flares up as bad pain. I have a feeling of being full, like everything is getting squashed inside me. I know that sounds weird. My GP hasn't suggested repeating blood test yet, seeing as there's something showing in my uterus on CT. She says they want to get to bottom of it. I just don't feel right at all. I'm 45 and definitely don't want any more children. I just want it all to stop now

  • I wouldn't wait for them to suggest it, you need to push for things that would put ur mind at ease. U may find that ur period had some influence on ur levels.

  • Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has had any updates on the cause of their ca125 levels? I’m currently going through this. My levels most recently were 86 taken the day after my period ended. I have had clear CT scan and gynae isn’t sure why my levels are raised. I’m currently in a state of worry, thinking the worst.
