Breast cancer

I had a urgent breast appointment a few days ago as my breast had puckered ( gone inwards ) all along my left side , I had an ultrasound where he said I had two lumps visible and he wasn't sure what was going on but thinks it's swaying more towards cancer I'm so so scared , I had a biopsy and a mammogram and I have another appointment booked with the consultant in just over a week but I can't settle I'm so worried and worrying Incase it spreads before I go back , has anyone had any similar symptoms etc or give me any advice that might make me feel even slightly better as I feel I'm almost ready to be taken away.

  • Hi [@Rrobson89]‍

Please try to reserve judgement until you've been back and spoken to the consultant. Nothing can be confirmed until the biopsy results are in. Some lumps may appear suspicious but test benign, they always take a biopsy to rule out cancer as well as to confirm it.

I've been there waiting for results and it is probably the hardest part because it is still speculation at this stage.

As for worrying about the lumps spreading I think the timesscales for biopsy results are within safe time limits.

That said it will do you no harm at all if you take control of your health in the meantime and do things which are "anti-cancer" such as stopping smoking (if you smoke) avoid alcohol, drinking plenty of water, eating fresh fruit and vegatables, and also exercise. Trying to reduce stress will also help you but I get it that may not be possible with this uncertainty so try to keep yourself busy so you do not overthink the issue....tried and tested it really helps.

Rest assured that you're in the best place to get this dealt with , whatever it is , Breast Cancer is now very treatable.

Hope all goes well for you
