Pre diagnosis of prostate cancer

Hi there my husband had mri for high psa reading few weeks ago. He still hasn't had results for mri but had a letter come through today for a biopsy of the prostate. Could anyone tell me why they would send him for a biopsy? Thanks in advance

    Hi Laura ,13 is one of those numbers, maybe is maybe isn't so a biopsy checks for sure, with infection PSA rises  . 

    When i was diagnosed mine was 1500 when treatment started it was 1581 , that was Feb 2016  .

    IF and i say IF it is there are options on what treatment to have,.

    Keep positive i know it's hard to do , keep occupied . keep eating .

    PS i was diagnosed by blood test before any scans or biopsy, but didn't realize till after why do biopsy .
