How long have you been waiting for your appointment?  They usually come through within about 2 weeks from referral. I am not currently going through what you are going through, but I have beeen down this road before. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years. , but despite this, I still lead a busy and fulfilling life.

Please keep in touch and let us know when you get your appointment through. Waiting is always a worrying time and we nearly all tend to overthink things.

Hi jolamine, thanks for your reply.

I was being seen by gynae and had a ct scan. My gynae  consultant rang me and told me if showed the 3cm lump in left breast and seemed surprised I hadn't noticed it myself. So he sent an urgent referral to rhe one stop breast clinic.  (Gynae issues put on hold as this was more important.). This was 7 days ago. Iv rang them each day this week to be told it was not triaged  yet. This morning I received a text to say referral has been received and I'm on the waiting list for outpatient breast appointment. I rang them to ask am I not meant to be seen within 2 weeks and she said no, basically the waiting list is longer than that and I'll just have to wait till prob middle of April. So bit disheartened today. Pretty sure iv felt another lump in my other breast since, and was hoping someone would see me soon to either reassure me or even confirm what is happening to me. Im Fed up!

With an urgent appointment, we should all be seen within 2 weeks, but this has been considerably longer in some area, due to the impact of Covid. Now that you're on the waiting list, it wouldn't do any hard to advise them that you are willing to take a cancellation.

I'm on the list for cancellation and told them I'm willing to travel to a different trust, so fingers crossed I hear something soon. I'm guna ring everyday anyway to whoever I can. The booking office girl told me to ring gp and tell them about 2nd lump and to ask if gp can send another referral to see if this might speed things up for me. I will try that in the morning. So hard to even get a chat with gps atm. Keep yous posted
