Awaiting breast clinic appointment. Anyone else?

Hi, iv been referred for a one stop breast clinic appointment after a ct  scan showed i have 3cm growth on my left breast. I had no idea it was there i  am currently waiting for someone to ring me with an appointment. Which is taking a lifetime.

Iv been reading some posts on here and everyone I so lovely supportive of each other, i really dont want to worry my family anymore than i already have, with my fears etc. I was wondering if anyone here is going through the same thing or is currently on their wait and would like to chat.

  • Hi Minnie

My appointment is tomorrow and I'm worried sick. I have an inverted nipple and pain so totally convinced that it's serious. I've lost weight and can't sleep or even think about anything else at the moment.

it does help to chat here though as we have one another for support.

    Hi Pauline,

I just want to wish you all the best for your appointment later today. It is hard to think of anything else whilst you're waiting for a diagnosis. Irrespective of the outcome, you will feel better once you know what you are dealing with.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Here's hoping for good news.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi jolamine

im just back from hospital and it's good news. I was so distressed at my appointment but everyone I saw was so lovely. Had a full examination and then mammogram.
This showed fybrocystic changes and a cyst in my other breast that I wasn't even aware I had.
They explained that post menopausal changes in breast tissue can change look and feel of breast as I had some thickening going on. No explanation for nipple retraction other than hormonal and aging ( I've also lost weight too)as I've been on and off HRT for last few years due to supply issues.
Lesson learned never to ever ever miss a mammogram call again!

Thank you so much for everyone and your support.
I will continue to pray for everyone worried and affected by this illness.

    Hi Pauline,

Thank you for the update. I am delighted to hear that all turned out well when you attended the clinic. Waiting to be seen and then for results is always a terrible mental strain. I'm sure that you will find that you can relax now that all of this is over.

You have learned one valuable lesson throughout all of this. It is never worth missing your routine mammograms, as they will pick up anything sinister at an early stage.

I shal raise a glass to your continued good health tonight.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
