Awaiting breast clinic appointment. Anyone else?

Hi, iv been referred for a one stop breast clinic appointment after a ct  scan showed i have 3cm growth on my left breast. I had no idea it was there i  am currently waiting for someone to ring me with an appointment. Which is taking a lifetime.

Iv been reading some posts on here and everyone I so lovely supportive of each other, i really dont want to worry my family anymore than i already have, with my fears etc. I was wondering if anyone here is going through the same thing or is currently on their wait and would like to chat.

  • Me too. Found a huge lump recently and have the one stop appointment this week. Totally dreading it. Hope they ring soon - it should be fairly quick It does help just to know you're not alone going through all this

  • Hello I've been through it all and now I'm at the other side, try not to worry too much I know it's very difficult waiting for an appointment and you just want to get things started,I'm happy to answer any questions or worries that you have, just remember it's not all doom and gloom x

  • Hi Minnie

My appointment is tomorrow and I'm worried sick. I have an inverted nipple and pain so totally convinced that it's serious. I've lost weight and can't sleep or even think about anything else at the moment.

it does help to chat here though as we have one another for support.

  • Hi, my appointment is next Friday I'm so scared and keep thinking the worst.  I'm 35 and have a 2 year old who I couldn't imagine leaving behind.  I found a lump under my areola 4 weeks post miscarriage and they've referred to the breast clinic.  I've also had lingering cough for 7 weeks now and scared it's serious and has already spread!  See, I think the worst!  Appointment needs to come fast!  Hope you are doing okay, fingers crossed for you all ladies xx

    Hi Minnie,

How long have you been waiting for your appointment?  They usually come through within about 2 weeks from referral. I am not currently going through what you are going through, but I have beeen down this road before. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years. , but despite this, I still lead a busy and fulfilling life.

Please keep in touch and let us know when you get your appointment through. Waiting is always a worrying time and we nearly all tend to overthink things.

I hope that your appointment comes through soon and that it all goes well.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Maci9,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am glad to hear that your appointment is soon, as this is always a worrying time. Not all breast lumps are cancerous. Many turn out to be benign cysts, hormonal or fibrous changes. Unfortunately, you are certainly not alone going through this. We are all rooting for you.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Pauline,

I just want to wish you all the best for your appointment later today. It is hard to think of anything else whilst you're waiting for a diagnosis. Irrespective of the outcome, you will feel better once you know what you are dealing with.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Here's hoping for good news.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Michelle,

First of all let me say how very sorry I am to hear about your miscarriage. Most of us tend to think the  worst at this stage, but fortunately this doesn't always turn out to be the case. Here's hoping that your symptoms may be due to hormonal changes during your pregnancy, as you have already had more than enough to cope with.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Pauline,  sorry to hear this I am sure ur worried sick,  good luck at your appointment today, I'll be thinking of you,  glad the waiting part is over for you, and you will finally get some answers.  Please let me know how it goes at your appointment. Good luck xx

  • Hi

I'm waiting too. I have been recalled after a mammogram with a cancer charity screening service. Mammogram was 5 weeks ago and I got the recall letter over 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately the xrays weren't sent to breast clinic then, they only received then last week, so I have another 2 weeks to wait. The waiting is torture,  our family history isn't great (to say the least) and I switch from saying its nothing to worst case scenario minute by minute, like you all.

Thank you for starting this thread, it's nice to know we're not alone x
