I’m sorry you are feeling so anxious about this. Is it you that is thinking it is cancer? I couldn’t be sure from your post. 

One of the main reasons for a red and inflamed cervix is a condition called cervical ectropion, when the cells from inside the cervical canal grow on the outside making it look red. Sometimes this bleeds. 

This most important thing is that this is NOT cancer, and not connected with cervical cancer.

When you see a nurse or gp, they are not experts in gynaecological conditions and so refer you to a gynaecologist to check everything thoroughly. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have cancer.
