It's good your boyfriend had this lump looked at by his GP. You're right that looking things up on the internet is never a good idea as it will bring up the worst case scenario and make you even more anxious and it's unlikely to give you an accurate diagnosis. It's a good idea to mention to the doctor that your boyfriend has a history of breast cancer in his family and that he had a double mastectomy over two years ago. Try not to worry too much or anticipate the worst as there are so many things it could be other than cancer. It's only a few days to wait before he sees the doctor again and perhaps the doctor will then be able to advise you on what the next steps might be. 

I am keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern. I hope that you will meet other members of the forum who have been in a similar situation and that they will be along shortly to share their stories with you.
