is yours a U4? I have a U4, first fna has come back inconclusive and now waiting on results of core biopsy which I had last week. Anxiety is eating away at me. Sorry I know you are further forward in the process.

The ultrasound showed u4 so had an fna which came back thy2 but they said it was hypoechoic and showed some feature so wanted it repeated in 3 months . Had the repeat fna and is now thy3 so now they said it's my choice wait and have repeat fnas and ultrasound or remove it. Really don't know what to do. How long will it be for your core biopsy results. 

Glad your feeling ok and hopefully your results will be fine. Do you know how long you have to wait to find out. I have seen the doc that will do my surgery and said he estimates end of may beginning of June so I get some kind of date soon.

Thank you. I should know by the end of next week. The waiting is awful. His comment about it being sticky has given me the worst feeling but I did have some sort of thyroiditis so I'm still trying to hope for the best

Hey, it's good you have a date to work towards. I was expecting to get my results today but surgeon rang and said they weren't ready. Possibly tomorrow or could be next week. I'm very nervous. I swing between thinking I could be really lucky or it could be really bad 

Let's hope they are all fine. Everything seems so delayed at the moment. My fingers are crossed for you. Can I ask how did you find it after surgery anything that helped you or you would avoid doing. It's all mind boggling

Thank you. Trying to stay hopeful but it's hard. I think I was really lucky with my surgery as I didn't even have any paracetamol after. It was sore and bruised and tender but bearable and I was able to eat a sandwich when I got back to the ward. They told me not to do anything that would strain it. I was able to drive a few days after. I didn't take anything different to hospital, just pyjamas and dressing gown and magazines to read. It seems to be healing quite well now. For me the thought of the surgery was far worse than the actual procedure

I rang earlier in the week and they said they still weren't back so not sure what that means as my surgeon said he normally always has them in 7 days. He's on holiday now too. The secretary said she would get back to me once they have them and she's showed the other doctor. Running out of hope but still praying for good results  :(

That's crazy, I think the wait is the hardest. Hopefully they come back soon. Are you feeling ok still from surgery

Hope you are ok. My neck is healing really well. I rang Friday and my results are back and the secretary checked with the doc and booked me in for a routine telephone appointment next week for the results. I'm hoping the telephone part rather than it being face to face is a positive 

That sounds good. You can never be sure until you get the results but both the "routine" and the "telephone" part make it sound like they aren't too worried.

I got my results today, benign!!! After 5 long months it's taking a while to sink in. Over the moon is an understatement :D I wish the same for you

Thank you :D mine was solid and hypoechoic too, and also vascular. It was a U4 on the scan and similar to thy3f on the biopsy. I can't believe it's finally over. Doc said it could have been caused by a viral infection. I hope you get the all clear too

Hi [@Bodge6]‍ I’m just jumping in here as I’ve just had my biopsy results as grade 3a. I was told that grade 4 is definitely cancer and grade 2 isn’t. So being in the middle sounds up in the air! Surgery within 4 months is recommended but I didn’t get any of the other info about solid and hypoechoic???  I was diagnosed with oestrogen positive breast cancer in 2019 and can’t quite believe I’m here again. Oh well. Could be worse!
