Do I have blood in urine?

I'm a 31 year old male and although I don't think I've ever clearly seen blood in my urine, I'm still worried. I sometimes provoke thoughts saying I have (I have OCD). I provided a urine sample in January and it was fine. I've provided another urine sample and am waiting for the results. By urine sample I mean I urinated into a bottle and gave it to reception at my GP practice. My urine was orange once or twice, but it went away. I was just hoping for some reassurance. I was wondering whether urine cultures are reliable and am I ok even if there is no infection?

  • A urine culture test (quick dip) will pick up trace amounts of blood. So if there is anything there it would be picked up. A lab test picks up microscopic blood.

i recently had trace blood dectected in my urine, but the urine was still yellow. Had an ultrasound of my bladder and kidneys and they said all was normal.

when I was 18, I managed to get chamilidiya. Then,I peed out pure blood (by the looks of it). Honestly I was scared and didn’t know what to do!! But a Course of tablets sorted that.

so a urine test would pick up trace amounts of blood. But even if blood was detected, doesn’t nessarcy means something is wrong.

    Hope that helps.
