Hiya,
So basically, my mum had a routine mammogram back in July which picked up some microcalcifications which they biopsied twice in August. Fortunately it was all benign and she got the all clear via telephone call in September!!
Since then, (it is March now) she said she has been having shoulder pains for the last 2 months and along with the shoulder pain she also had outer right breast pain (the same breast that was biopsied). I booked a GP appt asap in Feb and the GP felt it and said it is peculiar becuase there is no solids lump there per day but it feels more like thickened soft tissue in one area that then just disperses. I asked her multiple times, "does it feel suspicious?", as they know what to feel for. She said it does not feel suspicious or like a hard lump but just to draw a line beneath it all and esp since she only had a routine mammogram which picked up nothing bad a few months earlier. That way we can then focus on her shoulder. She said she feels it is just linked to the shoulder. My mum is 52 so she has referred to the breast clinic.
I am really worried as last time I do not think she was referred to the breast clinic?? She was just investigated following a routine mammogram. I am now really worried on what the process is at the breast clinic - how do they give the results??? The GP said she doubts they will do a biopsy but may just do an ultrasound of the right breast. Will they just tell her then and there??? Does she have to go in again for results? Will it be a phone call? I am worried sick and I was just like this last year when she was being biopsied etc. The GP said not to worry but of course I am going to worry. Last time, we got an appointment letter the day after her final biopsy with a telephone appointment. I am really scared.
so sorry for the long post xx
