Pancreatic Cancer Symptoms

Hi,

I am currently waiting on tests and i am scared to death!

I started developing lower abck and stomach problems a few weeks ago. Mainly low to middle back ache and stomach ache/burning near my belly button. Now and again i have loose bowels too and today my urine was orange in the morning. Everything i look at leads me to pancreatic cancer and i cant stop thinking about it. Im 37 and a single mum to a 7 year old and the thought of not being around is scaring me.

Urine test cam eback normal, i have bloods next week and i am awaiting an appointment for an Ultrasound.

The back ache is pretty much constant, sometimes lower, sometimes between my shoulder blades. Its like a dull ache. I lost my mum to lung cancer 6 years ago and seeing what she went through, i couldnt go through that. I am so scared :(

  • Hello marieb21 and welcome to Cancer Chat,

I hope you won't have to wait too long for your tests and the test results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more. I am so sorry also to hear you lost your mum to lung cancer - this is bound to have left a deep mark and it's normal that you are remembering everything she's been through and getting really anxious at the moment.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be as there are so many things other than pancreatic cancer that could explain your symptoms. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. It's reassuring that your urine test came back normal and I hope that everything will go well with your bloods next week. Waiting for these results can be nerve-racking and there are useful tips on this page on how to cope while waiting for important news.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
