Hello, I'm 24(f) , I went to the doctors earlier this week about multiple small lumps in my right breast and they referred me for a scan.
This will be the second time I've been referred for a breast scan- I had a cyst before in my left breast. Now I have found small hardish nodules in my other breast. My doctor said the newly-found lumps / nodules were probably nothing to worry about and that I could expect an appointment for a scan in 4-6 weeks.
However, I received a phone call 2 days later saying my scan was in two weeks. Today I received a letter confirming the date. The letter informed me that my GP had fast-tracked me for an appointment.
Should I be concerned that the appointment is sooner than expected and that I have been fast-tracked, or is two weeks via fast-track standard procedure for a breast lump?
(I can't remember how long I waited for my previous scan.)
Was the doctor trying not to worry me? Did they decide that it was more serious than they initially thought? Or is this normal?
I'm a little more worried now.
Thankyou to anyone who can offer advice x
