Breast biopsy - bad news given via telephone?

I just wondered if anyone who has been through this can give any advice. I had a breast biopsy and they said possible fibroadenoma but would do a biopsy. It's 1cm. I have been given a two week wait and a phone call appt for the results. My question is if there was cancer would they wait two weeks and would they tell you over the phone? I called the clinic and asked for an earlier appt and they only could do two hours early. I asked the question that does everyone have telephone calls for the results abs the receptionist said she just gets told who is to have a phone call and who she needs to arrange a phone call gave to face. So they do do face to face appts. Can anyone help? I going out of my mind.

  • My friend had her biopsy in May and got a letter with an appointment to the breast clinic for mid-June  saying she can bring someone with her also a notepad and a tape recorder. Her letter was for mid June but I remember we went on the 25th. They changed the date so we thought it was fine, but unfortunately it wasnt. I dont think they would tell you bad news over the phone even during covid. Its not always bad new tough, so try to relax (easy to say I know).
