Hi Emmal2309, sorry to hear you find yourself here. That must be tough being referred as non urgent due to your age too. I am 35 and have my appointment at the clinic next Monday. 

I have a lump in my left breast, well actually more than one! I first had symptoms like a blocked duct but haven't breastfed for over 2 years, although I also felt unwell and had a high temp so at first I was treated with antibiotics. It was still there so now been referred. The doctor said mine felt like a benign cyst or possibly a fibroadenoma, but I have since found at least one other lump in the same breast so worried sick.

I have a 4 year old and feel exactly the same as you! I really hope it's a good outcome for both of us! I know things like fibroadenomas and other benign conditions are common in your 20s or 30s, but I can't help but think it has to happen to someone. I also have a lot of cancer in the family and I lost my Mum to cancer too, but not breast cancer.

It sounds like you're having the exact same thoughts as me. I too feel like it has to happen to someone and that could possibly be me. 
Tonight has been awful all I can think about are the what if's, I'm hoping I'm not waiting to long for my appointment The Nurse also said to me that shes 80% sure its a benign cyst as its smooth, here's hoping its good news for the both of us! I too have had lots different types of cancer in the family but never breast cancer, I just hate thinking that going to that appointment could change me forever, it makes me not want to go just so I dont find out bad news.

I'm exactly the same, keep hAving to stop myself from googling, just hoping I get my appointment date soon. At least then I know what date I will be checked! Got a feeling it will be on my daughters 1st birthday in Feb though. How are you feeling getting closer to your appointment? Xx

It is hard not to definitely, it makes my anxiety worse though! I hope you get a date through soon and it's not on your daughter's birthday! I am feeling really anxious about it the closer it gets! I just want it to be over but also terrified I will get bad news! Also worried if I need a biopsy there will be another wait! How do you feel today? x

I found my first lump when I was 19, and then another around 24. Luckily both weren't cancerous but I did have them removed. 

In regards to the biopsy that was done at my first appointment at the breast clinic, I didn't have to wait for another appointment so hopefully you won't too. Although it won't take the stress away I hope that this helps x

Hi Lauren, thank you for this. I'm glad to hear all was OK with you. How long did it take for you to get the results of the biopsy? The wait for that worries me too if I need to have it x

The results took a couple of weeks, I know how it feels though. I'm currently awaiting results for a very rare ovarian cancer (it's had to go to Birmingham and the rare cancer centre in London) it was found on my 20 week scan whilst pregnant with my now 5 month old little boy and I'm still not got a final answer. I've still got to have a CT scan before I get the chance of seeing the consultant again.

I would say if you haven't heard then chase the results, don't be afraid to ask. It's your health and you need to priortise yourself.

I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. That must be so difficult with a baby too. Having a young child too, I just can't imagine how tough it is for you. I really hope you get some answers soon and have the best possible outcome. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me. I will definitely chase anything up if I need to have a biopsy etc and havent heard. I have my appointment at the clinic Monday so will find out then. Wishing you all the best x
