I am sure someone more knowledgable than me will reply, but I just wanted to let you know what happened at my appointment.

the breast clinic I attended was a one stop shop. I had a breast examination first, followed quickly by a mammogram, then ultrasound and biopsy, I met with the consultant before leaving. I was there about 1 1/2 hours. Is it worth maybe ringing them to ask what will happen at your appointment just so you know what to expect? From reading posts on here I can see that the clinics seem to vary in what they offer.

Mine is tomorrow too but 8.15am. Scared and not feeling positive it will go well. my husband thankfully is very supportive and positive so at least one of us is!

I am so pleased to report that there was nothing of concern from my consultation, manogram and ultrasound. The area I can feel is likely glandular tissue. That is most likely because of my age (41) breasts changes begin around 40 and also because of my recent weightloss of 3.5stone making it more obvious) The pain remains a mystery but could have been a ruptured cyst although she didn't think so because that usually shows on an ultrasound. The pink swollen area I had for a couple of a days as well could have been a hair follicle? Which was just a coincidence but all good news anyway. I'm hoping my pain will disappear when my period starts.

No problem, when i was frantically searching i found so many similar situations to mine with no outcome so i hope i can reassure ladies even if one boob does feel different to the other its not always sinister.

Just back from the breast clinic & also have good news to report. Had mammogram first followed by an ultrasound which confirmed my lump was a large cyst after all. Apparently very common at my age (50) but it didn't feel like a cyst on examination. Anyway, they drained it during the ultrasound & that's that. While I'm so happy & relieved, I can't help but think of those other ladies in the waiting room & those of you on here who don't get such good news :( Thank you to everyone who shared their stories & wished me luck.
