Indeterminate breast calcifications

Hi, has anyone else had this issue?  I went into breast clinic with another lump (I've had numerous fluid filled cysts over the last four years).  That was all fine but they flagged up calcifications on the other side.  I was really shocked.  I've got a biopsy next week and I'm in that horrible inbetween place of not knowing and worrying.  Is this likely to be DCIS?  Thanks x

  • Hi All!

I hope everyone managed to get at least a little bit of respite from the fear and anxiety this weekend.

Vicki - how was the beach hut? Hope that fresh air did the trick for you.

    Take care of yourselves xx

  • I took the kids to the cinema on Saturday, and then had my sons 4th birthday party on Sunday. So I've managed to keep quite well distracted!!

The breast clinic just called, and they've moved my results appointment to 9:40 on Thursday, instead of 11:40. So at least I don't have to worry all morning. It will be school run, then appointment!! Praying for benign results!! Xxx

  • I'm happy to report that I saw my surgeon today after their multidisciplinary meeting post mastectomy.  My knees were knocking but I'm thrilled that everything was as expected, no node involvement or any vascular involvement, everything is gone!

At 3 o clock she still hadn't had the HER2 protein test results.  Apparently my boob had been on a bit of a tour to be analysed at a larger hospital in the north west and it's negative!  My surgeon just phoned me at home.  No chemo needed and they've sent me on my merry way with Tamoxifen!

What a journey this has been these last 3 months.
Shoutout to our wonderful NHS and breast clinics who do an amazing job looking after us all.

Stay positive everyone waiting for results and I hope you all get the news you want.  Thinking of you all this evening.

    Mary xx

  • That's fantastic Mary. So very happy for you.

  • Wonderful news Mary. I'm delighted for you. Well done for getting through all the anxiety and worry. I don't think anyone else really 'gets it' like people in similar situations.you should be very proud of yourself.

    xx

  • Thank you everyone.  I feel I can have some peace now.  No-one knows what it's like unless they are going through it and I got to the other side, and somewhat quicker than I expected.   This thread and everyone else's stories helped me more than you could ever know. Thankyou all.  I'm signing off for now but I will be thinking of you all, and send my love to everyone.    You've all got this!

    Mary xxxx

I had my last EC chemo on Tuesday and then a physical exam and my doc said my boob 'feels normal' and he can no longer feel my tumours! I am having an MRI scan on April 12th, but so far so positive!!

    Lots of love

  • Hi

I came home yesterday afternoon and managed to get some sleep after a sleepless night in hospital. So lovely to be home. I feel ok today - taking painkillers regularly and pottering/resting! The drains are the worst bit - uncomfortable and heavy- carrying them around is a bit like being pregnant again!

Good luck with your surgery next week - it's amazing what they can do!
