Indeterminate breast calcifications

Hi, has anyone else had this issue?  I went into breast clinic with another lump (I've had numerous fluid filled cysts over the last four years).  That was all fine but they flagged up calcifications on the other side.  I was really shocked.  I've got a biopsy next week and I'm in that horrible inbetween place of not knowing and worrying.  Is this likely to be DCIS?  Thanks x

  • Hi All!

I hope everyone managed to get at least a little bit of respite from the fear and anxiety this weekend.

Vicki - how was the beach hut? Hope that fresh air did the trick for you.

    Take care of yourselves xx

  • I took the kids to the cinema on Saturday, and then had my sons 4th birthday party on Sunday. So I've managed to keep quite well distracted!!

The breast clinic just called, and they've moved my results appointment to 9:40 on Thursday, instead of 11:40. So at least I don't have to worry all morning. It will be school run, then appointment!! Praying for benign results!! Xxx

  • Sorry to hear you are feeling so down.  It's tough some days and you're right, we worry about family worrying about us!   My eldest son has special needs and has 1:1 PA's and Carers like yourself.  I have first hand experience of how you all transform our lives with your support and the lives of our vulnerable children and young adults.   Without people like you, our families lives would be much harder.  You do an amazing job.

THE TIME HAS COME TO PUT YOURSELF FIRST!  It it's now your turn.  Please stop worrying about everyone else and do all you can to focus on yourself.   At the moment that is all that matters.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you for surgery dates soon.

  • Hi lovely ladies

Just to let you know that I had my smx this morning at 8.30am. Was very anxious and scared but everyone couldn't have been nicer. The op went well and there was no cancer in my lymph nodes which I am delighted about. Feeling a bit spaced out but very little pain at the moment. Hopefully just in for the one night and then home tomorrow.

Hope you're all doing as good as possible. Thank you for your support and special thoughts to GT63.

    xx

  • Thank you [@bubblesmum]‍ Pleased to hear you're safely out the other side. Take it easy xx

  • Thank you [@marywj]‍ xx

  • Wonderful news.  It's such a relief to get to the other side.  Rest up.

  • I'm happy to report that I saw my surgeon today after their multidisciplinary meeting post mastectomy.  My knees were knocking but I'm thrilled that everything was as expected, no node involvement or any vascular involvement, everything is gone!

At 3 o clock she still hadn't had the HER2 protein test results.  Apparently my boob had been on a bit of a tour to be analysed at a larger hospital in the north west and it's negative!  My surgeon just phoned me at home.  No chemo needed and they've sent me on my merry way with Tamoxifen!

What a journey this has been these last 3 months.
Shoutout to our wonderful NHS and breast clinics who do an amazing job looking after us all.

Stay positive everyone waiting for results and I hope you all get the news you want.  Thinking of you all this evening.

    Mary xx

  • That's fantastic Mary. So very happy for you.

  • Wonderful news Mary. I'm delighted for you. Well done for getting through all the anxiety and worry. I don't think anyone else really 'gets it' like people in similar situations.you should be very proud of yourself.

    xx

  • Thank you everyone.  I feel I can have some peace now.  No-one knows what it's like unless they are going through it and I got to the other side, and somewhat quicker than I expected.   This thread and everyone else's stories helped me more than you could ever know. Thankyou all.  I'm signing off for now but I will be thinking of you all, and send my love to everyone.    You've all got this!

    Mary xxxx

  • Mary!! I have only just seen your news. Congratulations. I am so happy for you. Go forth and enjoy your life!

I had my last EC chemo on Tuesday and then a physical exam and my doc said my boob 'feels normal' and he can no longer feel my tumours! I am having an MRI scan on April 12th, but so far so positive!!

hurray for all of us aboslute fighters! :)

    Lots of love

  • That's amazing Vicki. Such positive news - makes you feel like the nasty chemo was worth while.

    You must be so pleased!

Wishing you all the best for your MRI on Tuesday xx

  • Aww, thanks so much. I've been visualising them gone, been taking supplements, meditating and of course being blasted with chemo, so yes am very happy they are going in the right direction!! Will let you know what the MRI says next week!

Hope you are doing well still. Xxx

  • You sound lke you're killing it - lterally!!

    What supplements are you taking?

I'm doing ok! Back at work (from home) until my next surgery which has now been delayed twice but hopefully will go ahead next Thursday! Not counting my chickens just yet!!!

Take care and catch up soon xx

  • That's wonderful news Vicki, I'm so thrilled for you.  Well done getting through it all.  Onwards and upwards with lots more good news to come for you I'm sure.

    Thanks for your lovely message.

    Mary xx

  • Hi Vicki,

Just wanted to check in and see how your MRI went.

Hope it was OK and hoping for positive results for you xx

  • Hello my lovely lady

No results were clear enough because I was moving too much apparently!! What a waste of half an hour in a metal tube. So instead he had a feel and confirmed that he too cannot find my small tumours. I'm booked in for a mammogram and ultrasound next Saturday to have a look also and in the interim I start new treatment on Tuesday next week. It had better be more tolerable than EC! Ugh. 12 weeks of it!! In other news I had my wig fitted on Thursday. Its amazing! So real, long, luscious and lovely. :)

    How are you doing? Xx

  • Hey!!

Oh no. Wkat a pain. MRI's aren't fun at the best of times and to not get any clear results what a nightmare. Am sure the mammo and ultrasound will be more definitive. And so good that they still couldn't find your lump on examination that's such a good sign.

I'm doing ok. Had surgery to sort out my dent on Thursday so back in recovery mode. Not the greatest way to spend Easter but must not complain!

Consultant confirmed I will need radiation so will suss out the details at next appointment in early May.

Wishing you all the best for the next round of treatment. Really hope its more bearable than the last. You've got this!

    Sending hugs xx

  • Happy Easter ladies

Hope the weather is being kind to you. [@Vicki_76]‍ hope your ultrasound and mammogram go better than the MRI. The wig sounds lush. Did you get it to match your own hair? Best of luck with the new meds. Hopefully they'll be more tolerable than the previous ones.

[@PositiveT]‍ hope you're not in too much discomfort. Was it a long procedure and how long is your healing time?

    Enjoy the long weekend.

    x

  • Hi Bubblesmum!

I'm pretty sore today!! Worse than after first surgery but had drain taken out this afternoon so hoping that will help! It was about 2.5 hour procedure and I am expecting about 4 week recovery time. Its all fun and games!!

How are you doing since your surgery? Hope you're recovering well and feeling positive about what is next to come in your treatment (if anything!)

Hope you had a lovely Easter!

    Sending hugs xx

  • Hi everyone

Glad to read that everyone is doing well and staying so positive.  Thinking of you all.

Enjoy this sunshine and hope you've all had a good Easter.
