Indeterminate breast calcifications

Hi, has anyone else had this issue?  I went into breast clinic with another lump (I've had numerous fluid filled cysts over the last four years).  That was all fine but they flagged up calcifications on the other side.  I was really shocked.  I've got a biopsy next week and I'm in that horrible inbetween place of not knowing and worrying.  Is this likely to be DCIS?  Thanks x

  • Thank you for your kind words.
It does feel so supportive and welcoming here. It's good to share experiences and talk

  • Hello my lovely

Just saw your update. Glad nothing more was on the MRI and I'm happy you are at peace with what is to come. Hope everything else is  OK with you.

    Big hugs xxx

  • Hi GT63!

I'm rubbish and miss most of these updates. Welcome aboard. Like the other outstanding ladies, I have found real comfort and support from chatting. Until you even get close to the door of this world, you never quite know what people are going through or just how many awesome and strong women are going through similar journeys. Happy to chat, help and virtual hug whenever you need it xxx

  • Honestly, I do it as well. I think most of us do at some point during our journeys. I hope you are feeling a bit less anxious now? How has your day been?

I had a very dubious 2 hour period from 12pm where I suddenly went to the dark side of my mood. No idea why, but I banished it with a hypnotherapy session and a nap! And this evening I've been cooking pancakes for my boy and have felt very normal. Thank goodness! Xxx

  • Thank you lovely.

    Stay strong xx

  • Thank you for the welcome and lovely words.

Its good to talk to those who really understand

  • So pleased to hear that you've got your date for surgery, that all sounds very positive.  Hope you're feeling okay. Now you can focus.

All the very best and sending you a hug for the 10th. xx

  • The hypnotherapy sounds fantastic Vicki, wish I could do that!
So glad you are your boy enjoyed the pancakes.  All my boys are pretty much grown up now but they do still love a pancake!

I get date for my surgery later.  Feeling nervous. Here we go!  Decided to go flat for now too, just can't face reconstruction, maybe later.

Hope you have a good day.  Take care. xx

  • Evening ladies!

Hope everyone is doing well and managed to have a nice weekend. Took my daughter to trampoline Park (figured I wouldn't be jumping for a while) shopping and for lunch (although this was her choice so she had a sausage roll in Greggs haha).

Having magseed inserted tomorrow and my covid swab so then I'll be isolating until surgery day on Thursday.

Mary - did you get your surgery date?

Anyway, just thought I'd check in!

    Take care awesome ladies xx

  • Hi Positive T.  I'm on my phone so just saw your message.  Wishing you all the best for your surgery on Thursday.  I'll be thinking of you.  You must be apprehensive but I'm sure somewhat relieved to be getting on with it.

My surgery isn't for 3 weeks on 25th March.   I was a bit gutted but the surgeon said she was booked up until then!  I'm getting a bit worried about delay really as it will be 9 weeks since my first biopsy by then.  I can't believe it!  This stuff doesn't happen quickly it seems.

She told me my BC will be assessed as an 'interval cancer' and that I may be contacted at a later date.  This is because there was nothing on my mammogram 2 years ago and now I've got these calcifications.  I'm in a right tizz about it as I've been Googling again and I've read that can mean it's more aggressive and fast growing.  I wondered if anyone else had heard of this??

So, it's still a waiting game for me.  I just want it done now.

Look after yourself this week and as I say, all the very best for Thursday.  Everything will go well im sure and you will be in good hands. Xx
