Hi, I don't really know how to word any of this but please bare with me.
My Dad is 56 and has been struggling to pass urine, he has had a mild hip 'ache' for around a year, and Christmas Eve we got a call to say his PSA levels were 156, the oncologist said it can't be anything other than cancer at this level.
My Dad has also in the last few days got chronic lower back pain and is barely able to do anything at all.
We are awaiting a CT scan, but I'm just absolutely devastated. I have 2 young children who are his best friends and I can't even look at them or my Dad without feeling like my heart has been shattered.
i don't really know what I want to ask but I wondered if anyone had any similar stories? Good and bad. I want to know what's happening. His GP said he's never seen PSA so high in his career.
I wish to add his prostate was enlarged on examination but not lumpy?
Thank you, Katherine.
