Breast cancer

Hi everyone, having recently had my mammogram  it's been picked up there's a lump I had a a biopsy and it's grade 3 cancer, they quickly got me in to get it removed and I have just received results that all margins and  lymph nodes are clear, I should have been ecstatic but im just so emotional I have now got the long wait again to see oncologist and find out what treatment I will need, I don't actually know what to ask.  Im just hoping that I can get a little feedback if anyone has had similar, thank you

  • Referral follow up appointment after a routine mamogram. During the appointment I had another mamogram, then an ultra sound, then a core biopsy, I left feeling completely numb and speechless. On leaving the nurse said good luck with your results and at that point I though yes I going to need it. 10 days later the results showed DCIS grade 3, I was meant to be so happy as it was good news apparently, more conversations in the 'special room' took place. I've had the opp and results delayed a week due to staff shortages, I'm due back tomorrow for my results, and more conversations in the hankie room

  • Hi, I was put in the "hanky" room.

    I wasn't really told much.

I went in for Mammogram then ultrasound. Staff doing ultrasound said I'm just going to do a biopsy. I was in shock. I asked "so you have found something then?"

and got a reply "erm yes"

I knew I was there for someone to have a look at my lump in my boob but presumed they would explain something about results before my boob was stabbed.

  • Morning,

Results showedcclear margins but small so I was back again for another op to take more shavings away, I think the important thing mis to take someone with you it all gets a bit much. I know they are talking away giving all the information but it just goes over my head, I mean a menopausal women cannot remember her bare some days lol never mind medical jargon. However my treatment has been fantastic and very grateful for the support

Anyhow I hope you are doing OK x
