A warm welcome to our forum! How did the Macmillan nurse visit go? I hope she was very helpful and that she had more information to give you about your dad's diagnosis and staging.

I think that's a very good question, to be honest.  I find it useful to know who might know 'whatever' too.  Also, like you, I have a very inquisitive mind and I like to know, and understand, the details.  I suspect that's largely personality but also I'm a retired nurse ;)

I would go with the suggestion given by [@Moderator Lucie]‍ and contact them via the telephone number given in her post.  I will suggest Dr Google can be fraught with problems although, I find OK as long as I'm conscious of being discerning as to what 'information' is available, ie either unreliable or too much detail which causes even more worry and concern.  So, please take care.  Best to speak to recognised organisations. :)

Thank you for your reply. She was very helpful and talked us through everything really well. Unfortunately dad has metastatic basal cell carcinoma with secondary in the lung, which is rare so I'm not sure you'll be able to signpost me anywhere.
