Feel so scared

Hi,

I don't know what I'm even hoping for here but I'm so scared and thought this forum might help me. I had my appointment at breast clinic yesterday and I had stupidly told myself that all would be well. It was the complete opposite :(

After mammagram, ultrasound and a few biopsies I have been told I definitely have breast cancer and they will phone me before Friday to tell me what is going on. I have an appointment next Monday as a follow up. I feel sick and so worried. I'm 40 and a single Mum of a fab teenage boy. I haven't told him yet as want to see what I'm dealing with first.

They biopsied 2 lymph nodes too and that is freaking me out. Anyone able to calm me down?

Sending love and strength to you all x

  • Hi

Feeling scared is a normal reaction when you receive the news you have, my heart goes out to you.  It is an extremely challenging time following diagnosis to treatment, please be assured there is help and excellent treatment available.

I am a little further on from diagnosis but I still remember the anxiety and sleepless nights waiting for results and appointments, to suggest for you not to worry is not helpful, the advice I can give is to trust in the professionals and the process of this diagnosis.  When I was first diagnosed I didn't understand there are so many types of breast cancer all needing a different approach to treatment, It takes time for biopsies and scans to happen but it all needs to be done to ensure the correct treatment is given to you for your type of cancer.

It is without doubt a difficult time, but you will get through it
