Feel so scared

Hi,

I don't know what I'm even hoping for here but I'm so scared and thought this forum might help me. I had my appointment at breast clinic yesterday and I had stupidly told myself that all would be well. It was the complete opposite :(

After mammagram, ultrasound and a few biopsies I have been told I definitely have breast cancer and they will phone me before Friday to tell me what is going on. I have an appointment next Monday as a follow up. I feel sick and so worried. I'm 40 and a single Mum of a fab teenage boy. I haven't told him yet as want to see what I'm dealing with first.

They biopsied 2 lymph nodes too and that is freaking me out. Anyone able to calm me down?

Sending love and strength to you all x

  • Hi Laurenren,

    Hey lovely,

Feeling scared is totally normal. I went through a similar scenario back in February although not breast cancer - mine was head  and neck. Like you I'd convinced myself that everything was fine, which was not the case. I had my surgery on 08/03 so five weeks ago. While it was a long operation (13.5 hours) I can't fault the help and support that I've had from the staff in hospital. To be honest it does and will feel like a surreal whirlwind that your stuck in. Just trust the people that are treating  you and gather as much information as you can as they will know what's best for you. I'm back into hospital today for a RIG fitting as I start chemo and radio on Thursday. I wish you all the best with your treatment - will be thinking of you. Just know you are not alone in this battle. Big love Kim xxx
