  • [@Anna71]‍ , ahhh, I never would have guessed Lithuania, I thought UAE or Lebanon (two places I love), I have always wanted to visit Russia, St. Petersburg in particular, maybe one day........The Onco prescribed me Buscopan for the stomach cramps, but the heartburn wasn’t too bad last chemo, so I didn't raise it with him., I had some liquid Gaviscon, but it barely helped. I slept about 3 hours last night, which is getting better, it’s just those 3 days that are a real problem, then it tapers off. No stomach cramps yet, no nausea either, probably a bit too early yet. Well done, 2nd vaccination, mine and hubby’s are on 21st May, 6 weeks after the first one. My hair is falling out big time, it started last Sunday and has continued, I have lots like you, and very thick too, but I have probably lost 20% so far, it’s noticeable to me when I put my fingers through it, but it wouldn’t be obvious to anyone else - YET!  You keep enjoying the next while until you start your chemo, hopefully it will be kind to you. Have a lovely day, it’s very ‘grey’ here, no sun today I think......speak soon hun. Lyn. XX

  • [@linds16]‍ , Hi Linds, I’ve had heartburn on and off for years, but it stopped immediately when I kept off the refined carbs as soon as I was diagnosed with our mutual enemy, so I know it’s the steroids. Now I’ve had heartburn, but not THIS heartburn - torture, I didn’t know what to do with myself last night, hopefully i’ll pick up from today, just had brekkie and no heartburn yet, I’ve been up since 3.30am emailing and stuff, the steroids should be on their way out of my system now, I got through 3 litres of water yesterday. I will be getting some Omeprazole for next time, that’s a CERTAINTY. How are you feeling? Well I hope. A bit of a grey day here, was hoping for some more gardening time........ have a great day, Lyn. XX

  • [@yorkiegal]‍ i was advised to to sleep with night cap to help hair and protect, but you not even sleeping. I know its dramatic to see your hair going down but thats how it is. Do you have turban or something just incase to keep rest of hair in one place as much as you can? even if we have to shave we just have to...i wish you better days with more sun so you will enjoy your gardening more . Oh yes Leningrad ( Stpeterburg) its the most beautiful town with white nights and beautiful architecture, iam lucky to stay in this beautiful town and explore it beauty. Long long time ago ... and iam also lucky iam in England and will have best treatment for my illness as back home (Vilnius) we have to pay for Trastuzumab. Please feel free to text me iam very happy to receive your msg xxx

  • [@Anna71]‍ Hi Z, I bought two bamboo cotton caps and a sunhat from Annabandana.co.uk, the have the most wonderful headwear and SO much better priced than anywhere else, it started as a family project due to a family member having cancer, I wouldn't shop anywhere else. They are so fast too delivering. I always wear hats anyway, so I’m used to it, no big deal, if it goes in big chunks i’ll just get hubby to buzz it. The chemo nurse said the defining time is just before, or during chemo 3, you would get a good idea of the range of hair loss then, some ladies start to grow it back by chemo 5. The Onco told me it was a 50/50 shot anyway, the cold cap just doesn’t do anything for some women at all, but I wanted to try. Crikey I bet the Trastuzumab is expensive! Thank goodness we’re here eh? Speak soon, Lyn. XX

  • Hi, I am joining you on the hair falling out.  Mine is the same, though it is thick and therefore not noticeable yet, but I do feel like I am shedding more than the dog .   Otherwise I am good, exercising (walking) a lot which I think really helps.   Good luck with the next few days, then the worst is over for this cycle xx

  • I've visiting Lithuania a few times and it's a beautiful country. We used to live in Europe and did a road trip around the Baltics, travelling each day and camping.  We really loved it, great countries and great people

  • [@linds16]‍ , Just got up, managed some sleep which was a result. Sorry about your hair, I will be chuffed if I can hang on to half of it TBH, I just didn’t want the pitiful looks people talk about with the hair loss around the face, temples and neck, I’d rather be incognito as it were. I go walking at 5.30am when it’s lovely and quiet, our dog died of prostate cancer in late november  just before I was diagnosed, it was heartbreaking, no signs of it, he was off colour, immediately took him to the vets, booked him for a scan, and his whole back end went only two days later, hours before the scan, cancer was already in the spine and back legs, the scan was replaced by euthanasia. He was a sprightly 7 year old terrier and the perfect dog, no signs of being unwell at all. We adopted him when we lived in France. I’ve lost a bit of the reason to go walking but I do try, I took him out in all weathers religiously twice a day, but I’ve not got that urge now, just an early morning walk for me when it’s dry. Lithuania sounds marvellous, we were looking at cold water cruises  to the Baltics early last year, but obviously that didn’t come about, I don’t know if it will going forwards, holiday unsurance is horrendously priced aprés cancer, one lady I know was quoted £1500 for a week in Spain - Charlatans! Have a great weekend. Hoping for good weather as always. Lyn. XX

  • [@linds16][@yorkiegal]‍ iam actualy smiling someone already looking forward for holiday.... iam looking or not looking forward to my session, funny things my bloods and covid its Monday and chemo on Friday, not to sure how it works. Seems London its busy with treatments ... yes Lithuanian its very beautiful country with lots of lake and rivers and cold sea side, and all country its seems like country side with lots of green parks forest and gardens. I wish you beautiful weekend ladies with some sun shine just to go for a walk and enjoy beautiful weather . XxxZ

  • [@Anna71]‍ Hi Z, You paint a beautiful picture of Lithuania, it sounds wonderful. Feeling a bit low today, I can’t get warm, but my temperature is normal, constant nausea and earache. Good luck for next Friday Z, you’ll be fine. My recon isn’t comfortable either, always slightly painful. Have a beautiful weekend too, I missed most of today, feeling nauseous and sorry for myself. We’ll all get through this. speak soon, Lyn. XX

  • [@yorkiegal]‍  Lyn I am sorry you're not feeling so good today.  I hope that passes soon. I guess the impact of the steroids has worn off. Earache sounds horrid, hope you find something to ease that.  I hope the weather is good where you are and that you can get out and enjoy being in your garden x

[@Anna71]‍  Zana, I have bloods on Monday for treatment on Thursday, a few more days of "normal" before it starts again.  I grew up in Ireland, we also only had muddy potatoes, in fact I remember foraging for them in the fields after the farmer had dug up his crop.  Gosh I had forgotten all about that.  Have a lovely weekend too x
