  • [@Anna71]‍ , Hi Z, The lack of sleep is the dreaded steroids you take over the 3 days, I can’t get a wink of sleep, perhaps one hour a night, it’s the same every chemo, it normally takes my body until the thursday after chemo on Tuesday to be able to wind down, by that time I’m totally exhausted so I manage to sleep - it really is a nuisance, I usually spend the nights catching up on emails to friends or other quiet jobs (ironing!!!) on the monday/tuesday/Wednesday. It was a long day wasn’t it? My first and second were delivered slowly, my third on tuesday will be delivered super quick. I’m near to the hospital too, only 20 minutes by car, so really convenient for us. Did some fence painting this morning, just had lunch and going out into the garden to do some more. You have a fantastic weekend, i’ll keep everything crossed for you that your side effects are minimal. Sending you a huge hug, Lyn. XX

  • [@yorkiegal]‍ hi , my face like tomatoe Iam definitely reacting to something ... what if i not take steroids ? They give me 15 tablets if needed 3 times a day before food, i ate very little , no apetite yet plus stomach crumbs already ...oh my lovely happy days xxx

  • [@Anna71]‍ , Hi Z, as far as I know you MUST take the steroids, they’re important, do you have a number for the chemo unit? A red face is really worth mentioning, they will know what you’re allergic to I would think. Poor you Z, and stomach cramps. Happy (NOT!) days indeed. Lyn. XX

  • [@yorkiegal]‍ hi Lyn, I checked again that tablets what they give me says ,when needed " so its not that i have to take them. I will try to not have today and will see how it goes. My face red from morning so i believe its from Taxol as side effect and i will mention when i go next time for chemo otherwise im just ok , slightly tired but cant sleep. Went out and about , drive a car , not so bad today happy to be just ok for first day after chemo. 11 left :) xx

  • @Anna71, Hi Z, the steroids (dexamethazone) are to be taken twice a day - the day before chemo, on the day of chemo and the day after chemo - they are really important. The metoclopramide are anti-nausea tablets, you only take those if you need them, if I feel even the slightest bit nauseous I take one immediately, because if nausea kicks in it is more difficult to get on top of. With the steroids I was told to take one with or after breakfast, (I take mine by 6am) and take the 2nd dose no later than 1 - 2 pm, if you take it later on in the day you will get no sleep, but taking it at 1pm doesn’t help anyway, I still take it at that time though. So Z............1 down and counting........... Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Lyn. XX

Hi there, how are you both? Hope you're doing ok and treatment going to plan.

I've had some positive news I wanted to share. I had an MRI today and my 56mm lump is now 11mm!  I find that quite incredible and am really pleased.  I now have to have a small marker inserted so that they know where the cancer cells are for when it comes to surgery.  Seems there is no change to my treatment plan, but I'll know more when I meet the oncologist next week.

Hope all is good with you both x

  • [@linds16]‍ Hi Linds, That is great news indeed, I have read of similar size and larger tumours being shrunk into non-existance, I hope this is the case for you, it’s looking very positive at this early chemo stage - well done you! Well it’s dreaded steroid time again, been awake absolutely all night, hubby went to bed at midnight, I got on the sofa, luckily it’s a big squishy comfy one! I knew I would be fidgeting all night and keeping him awake. Chemo nearly didn’t happen yesterday, my bloods were not up to scratch on the platelet front (blood clotting) from blood tests on sunday, so I had to go in early yesterday before chemo to have them re-done, luckily I just scraped through with the new reading, otherwise they would have had to delay it. Hope you’re doing okay, Zana is quiet, I really hope she’s well. Take care my lovely, will have a drink (tonic water!) to your news. Lyn XX.

[@Anna71]‍ , Hi Z, hope you’re okay and the week has been kind to you, it’s getting nearer to Friday, how are you feeling? I really hope you’re well - thinking of you. Lyn XX.

  • @Anna71, [@linds16]‍ Hi Z, So pleased you sound upbeat, and SO, SO very pleased you have not had too many side effects, long may it continue for you, Linds news is fabulous, I’m so pleased about it. My breast has been tricky, this is the first week I have been pain free since the surgery, but I still can’t sleep on my left side, which is a very big issue for me. I have been a left side sleeper for over 50 years that I can remember. I have reached a decision, but I don’t want to discuss it on an open forum, it would need to be a personal message, Could you send me a friend request? I will try send you one, and hopefully I can send you both a pm and discuss things confidentially. My husband knows about your two circumstances also, he asks me frequently how you are both getting on. Will look into the friends requests now. Take care both. Lyn XX.

  • Hi [@yorkiegal]‍ I accepted your friend request and [@Anna71]‍ I sent one to you.  I think perhaps if we are all friend with each other then we can move to a private discussion.  That would be good I think.

    thsnks, Linds x
