Firstly, I'm so sorry to hear your dad has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. My dad was also diagnosed with this 2 yrs ago. He had a PSA of 1566 at the time which is extremely high! It has spread to his hip and some lymph nodes. At 75 and with a heart condition he can't have chemo but his cancer is controlled by taking hormone tablets which cancels out testosterone from his body which is what the cancer feeds on. He has done really well on these as his PSA is now only 0.56! When he was first diagnosed I was petrified for him but reading the real life posts on here from several men going through the same cancer I have been able to get a much better understanding and share the information with my dad which has been really helpful. Dad leads a totally normal life and you would not know he was ill. Please don't google for answers as it will only ever give you worse case scenarios please stay positive and don't look too far into the future. There is so much that can be done to treat prostate cancer.

Dr Google is very bad at promoting worst case scenarios. Everyone's cancer journey is unique to them. I sadly lost a close friend to prostrate cancer several years ago. Hormone treatments can get the PSA levels down quite quickly and it becomes a matter of addressing the other issues. My friend wasn't lucky, but during his treatment large parts of his life were perfectly normal and he made sure that every moment was lived to the full.

You never know how your body will react, like Covid, some people have no problems, others become severely ill. Your father may respond well to treatments, only time will tell. 

I know this but don't very helpful, but what will happen is that every shared moment will now be more special and intense. Accept what is, don't think of the future you can't control, and share the joy of life and love that surrounds you. Most of all communicate.
