Hi there I have just been diagnosed with bowel cancer I had a colonoscopy Ct and MRI scan over the past 2 weeks I am waiting to find out what my treatment plan will be . Anxious times is anyone else going through the same on here ?
Hi, how are you doing? Just wanted to wish you luck for tomorrow and Monday. I had a phone call from the hospital and and I am so lucky that my cancer hasn't spread I am so relieved. I am provisionally booked in for my operation on 24th February. Meeting with consultant on Tuesday. Xx
Aww wow that's fantastic news, I can only pray for the same news but unfortunately I've never had luck on my side. My Mum and Step Dad are taking me for my MRI Scan tomorrow so at least I don't have to drive.
Please let me know how you get on, on Tuesday when you meet your Consultant, I bet you're so relieved and how good of the hospital to phone you and tell you straight away rather then making you wait. Not long before you can rid this horrible disease now xx
I also refused colonoscopy because I was so terrified of having it done can anyone tell me some of there symptoms im in so much pain in my lower abdomen. I'm unable to pass wind im so scared I have bowel cancer I also had a positive FIT test. I have no one to talk to about my fears
Hi and welcome to the chat. I know it's normal to be scared but PLEASE have the test. If there is anything wrong the sooner you get looked at the better your chances are. Plus you may be worryingly about nothing. I was so scared when I got my results but now I am so glad they found it and I have an operation booked to get it out of me. Early detection is the way forward. There are lots of us in the same boat and can help each other through this. Please rethink and chat to me if you need to xx
Hi pupleprincess thanks for reply I had to rejoin has i forgot my password. The hospitail said I will be booked in for a sigmoidoscopy but they can't tell me when I was wondering did you have any symptoms iam in awfull pain. Buscopan not helping at all iam so worried I cant think of anything else xx
Hi, glad they are doing more tests and the one you are having isn't as invasive as a colonoscopy. My bowels/stomach ache all the time. I must admit when it's really bad buscopan doesn't touch it. I sometimes find a drop of brandy and hot water helps. I had a really bad episode a couple of weeks ago through the night and the pain went right through to my back. We called 111 and they sent an ambulance but after doing all my observations and they were normal they told me it was trapped wind! Sorry I can't be of much help xx
