Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Hi there,

Just wondering if there's anyone on here having treatment for triple negative breast cancer?

I only found yesterday I had it and I'm still awaiting scans and a treatment plan. The lymph node under my arm is swollen as is my tonsil on the same side. I've also got a lot of pain in my shoulder, arm and back and was wondering if this is normal?

I'm really frightened I'm trying to be brave for my husband and kids but I'm so so scared. I have no optimism of getting through this I've convinced myself this is a death sentence and I don't know how to change my thought process.

  • After a year of various scans and cameras as they suspected colon cancer I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer with metastes in liver and bones, in November.

I know how you feel after fairly healthy life (I am 68) everything has fallen apart, I need my gall bladder removing but can’t because of the cancer.

I feel like Alice in Wonderland falling down the rabbit hole.

I was supposed to have immunotherapy alongside my chemo, but the final test also came back negative too, so that was out of the window.

i have now started chemo, just finished first course of two sessions, two weeks off then another two, then repeated.

i will not lie I feel pretty dire at the moment and if it wasn’t for my family sending me regular messages and sending little gifts for chemo day I don’t know what I would do.

Of course I can’t see anyone which makes it worse but makes the messages all the more precious.

You will need the full support of all your family and have got to be selfish, look after yourself, they will never know how you truly feel.

You must fight this for your husbands and children’s sake.

There are new drugs coming on the market make sure they know if you wish to be put forward for them.  I have read that as this is a fairly rare cancer and there is more research into it going on all the time.

I will pray for you and hope you can get some peace of mind to help you go forward.

Take care my lovely and good luck
