Rectal Cancer

Hie Everyone

I have recently been diagnosed with Rectal cancer after under going through 3 procedures  included biopsies which where superficial and inconclusive for the past 4 months, CT Scans and MRI scans also failed to detect any cancer until I had a sigmoidscopy done and i was informed i had a tumour growing in me, I am 46 yrs old with no known medical conditions and to my suprise i was informed that  this diagnosis was caught at the early stages however the doctors have advised removal of the rectum and having a stoma bag permanently  as the best corrective treatment and solution. This decision has taken me by suprise and confused as it sounds so excessive, I would like to hear from anyone who can offer some advise or  share any similar experience,  I would really appreciate any help i can get.

Thank you in advance for your time
